The SMG1500 is a high-precision surfacing machine designed for resurfacing cylinder heads and engine blocks — with a working range from the smallest passenger car heads to large heavy-duty diesel heads and blocks. Two configurations are available: the SM1500 for dry cutting / milling only, and the SMG1500 for both dry cutting and wet grinding. (An SM1500 can be upgraded to an SMG1500 by adding the wet grinding package.)
Built around a traveling-column design with linear roller bearing slideways, the machine delivers a super fine surface finish — RA 3.2 with milling and RA 1.6 with wet grinding — at an accuracy of 0.0001" (0.01 mm) on both vertical and horizontal axes. A Taida Delta touch-screen control with programmable length of part, rapid feed, and electronic handwheel makes the machine fast to set up and easy to learn.
