Comec RP1300.M Cylinder Head and Block Resurfacing Machine

The RP1300.M is a heavy-duty resurfacing machine designed to resurface cylinder heads, engine blocks, and other flat mating surfaces for cars, trucks, and industrial engines. It’s part of Comec’s head-and-block resurfacer lineup, built for precision, smooth table motion, and flexible feed/spindle controls. The “M” version provides the option for milling/insert-plate resurfacing (CBN/PCD or abrasive), which gives shops the ability to handle both cast-iron and aluminum surfaces (including heads with pre-chambers) with the same machine.

RP1300.M is well suited for engine rebuild shops and machine shops that want a reliable, versatile resurfacer — from small-block automotive heads to larger diesel or industrial castings — offering precision resurfacing without needing multiple machines.

Key Features

  • Smooth, precise table feed — Table motion driven by a recirculating-ball screw, giving accurate, stable feed control — ideal for consistent resurfacing across different materials.
  • Adjustable Spindle Speed & Table Feed — Spindle rotational speed is variable (300–1500 rpm) and table feed variable (0–1500 mm/min), allowing optimization for cast-iron or aluminum resurfacing jobs.
  • Selectable Grinding Wheel or Milling Plate — Standard configuration includes a segmented grinding-wheel plate for cast-iron or aluminum heads with pre-chambers; optional CBN/PCD/ALP milling-plate is available for high-speed, high-precision resurfacing.
  • Large Work Capacity — Heads, Blocks & Large Castings — Table travel of 1310 mm, maximum working length up to 1225 mm, and working width up to 355 mm (with optional 405 mm) — large enough for many blocks and heads.
  • Robust Build & Operator-Friendly Controls — Base and slides designed with flat + V-shaped lubricated ways for smooth motion; control panel is on a swing arm adjustable to operator comfort; includes head rapid feed, coolant system with pump and settling tank, and wheel-dressing assembly for consistent finish.
  • Flexible for Different Materials & Use Cases — Whether dealing with cast-iron heads, aluminum blocks, pre-chamber heads, or industrial flat-surface work — RP1300.M adapts through tooling and feed/spindle adjustments.

Ready to Make the Right Equipment Choice?

Built on Real Engine-Rebuilding Experience

Decades before today’s engine shops trusted our equipment, Tony was already deep in the craft — rebuilding motors, machining blocks, and pushing for better precision.

A local newspaper once featured him as a standout young machinist, noting his drive, attention to detail, and obsession with doing things the right way. That same passion would eventually shape our company’s values.

Today, that commitment lives on in every machine we sell, every customer we support, and every shop we help succeed.
