Comec RP1000.CNC Cylinder Head and Block Resurfacing Machine

The RP1000.CNC is a high-precision resurfacing machine built to resurface cylinder heads, engine blocks, or any flat surface requiring accurate mating surfaces. It’s designed to handle both cast-iron and aluminum heads/blocks (even aluminum heads with steel pre-chambers), making it well suited for automotive, truck, and some industrial engine work. Its automatic, CNC-controlled cycle uses a laser-surface scanner to map the head/block surface before machining — letting the machine automatically plan and perform the resurfacing for optimal flatness and repeatability.

Because of its versatility and automation, RP1000.CNC is ideal for engine-rebuild shops or machine shops that value consistent results, reduced manual finish work, and the ability to handle a wide variety of heads and blocks without multiple specialized machines.

Key Features

  • Automatic surface scanning + CNC control — Built-in laser sensor scans the head/block surface, and the software computes machining offset to deliver a precisely flat resurfaced deck or head surface.
  • Suitable for cast-iron and aluminum (w/ pre-chambers) — Milling plate accepts CBN or PCD inserts, making it safe for hard cast-iron surfaces or softer aluminum heads with alloy or steel inserts.
  • Wide workpiece capacity — Max workpiece width up to 355 mm, and working height adjustability from 150 to 545 mm, letting you handle many head and block sizes.
  • Fully automatic cycle option — Once set up and scanned, the machine can carry out the resurfacing automatically — reducing operator intervention and increasing throughput.
  • Precision construction & stable platform — Built with high-rigidity cast-iron base, table, column, and head — plus ball-screw table/head feeds for accurate, repeatable surface finish even at slow feed speeds.
  • User-friendly controls — Adjustable/twist-out control panel with touchscreen + electronic handwheel gives flexible control and easy setup for operators.

Ready to Make the Right Equipment Choice?

Built on Real Engine-Rebuilding Experience

Decades before today’s engine shops trusted our equipment, Tony was already deep in the craft — rebuilding motors, machining blocks, and pushing for better precision.

A local newspaper once featured him as a standout young machinist, noting his drive, attention to detail, and obsession with doing things the right way. That same passion would eventually shape our company’s values.

Today, that commitment lives on in every machine we sell, every customer we support, and every shop we help succeed.
