AMC-Schou CM-1800V Cylinder Block Boring & Milling Machine

The AMC-Schou CM-1800V is a heavy-duty, precision-engineered cylinder block boring and milling machine built for engine shops that demand capacity and versatility. With a massive table travel and a high-torque spindle, it’s designed to handle large V-blocks or long inline engines while maintaining tight tolerances. Ideal for rebuilders who work on high-volume or large-format blocks, the CM-1800V strikes a balance between rigidity, speed, and adaptability.

Key Features

  • Ergonomic Control Panel: Features a swivel-arm mounted control panel, letting the operator set up comfortably and control spindle, boring, and table movement easily.
  • Heavy-Duty Table Movement: Telescopic guards protect the guide-ways, while stop dogs enable fast, accurate positioning from cylinder to cylinder.
  • Variable Milling Capacity: Equipped with a 300 mm (11.8″) head and 2 CBN cutters. Optional milling widths up to 400 mm (15.7″) and 500 mm (19.7″) give flexibility for large surfaces.
  • High-Precision Boring: Supports a full range of boring spindles (from 1.25″ to 13.75″ / 32 – 350 mm) with stepless boring feed for controlled material removal.
  • Fast Spindle Retraction: Rapid return rate of the spindle (~59″/min or 1,500 mm/min) reduces non-cutting time, maximizing throughput.
  • Sturdy Motor Configuration: Powered by a 5.5 hp (4 kW) spindle motor, with separate motors for boring feed (1 hp) and table feed (3/4 hp).
  • Large Work Capacity: Maximum workpiece weight of approximately 2,640 lbs (1,200 kg) and long table travel (79.7″ / 2,025 mm) accommodate big engine blocks.

Ready to Make the Right Equipment Choice?

Built on Real Engine-Rebuilding Experience

Decades before today’s engine shops trusted our equipment, Tony was already deep in the craft — rebuilding motors, machining blocks, and pushing for better precision.

A local newspaper once featured him as a standout young machinist, noting his drive, attention to detail, and obsession with doing things the right way. That same passion would eventually shape our company’s values.

Today, that commitment lives on in every machine we sell, every customer we support, and every shop we help succeed.
