Comec RV516.ASM Centerless Valve Refacing Machine

The RV516.ASM is a precision valve-refacing (grinding) machine designed for resurfacing engine valves (intake/exhaust) with high speed, accuracy, and repeatability. It uses a centerless grinding system — meaning the valve is held and rotated on its stem by motorized rollers instead of a traditional collet or spindle — which ensures excellent concentricity between valve stem and valve head, improving sealing and longevity in rebuilt engines.

Because of its compact size and versatility, RV516.ASM is well suited for engine-rebuilding shops, performance rebuilders, or machine shops handling a wide variety of valves (cars, trucks, motorcycles). Its design avoids frequent tooling changes: it handles a broad range of valve stems and heads without the need to change collets or mandrels.

Key Features

  • Centerless Grinding System — Valve spins on its stem driven by three motorized rollers (upper roller tilted to feed automatically), giving concentricity within 0.01 mm between stem and head.
  • Wide Valve Compatibility — Stem Ø 4–16 mm — Works on valve stems from 4 mm up to 16 mm without changing collets or spindle.
  • Valve Length & Head Size Range — Accepts valve stems 55–330 mm long; valve heads up to 114 mm diameter.
  • Face Angle Flexibility: 0°–60° — Capable of grinding seat and valve face angles up to 60°, covering most valve configurations.
  • High Grinding Wheel Speed & Efficient Cycle Time — Grinding wheel rotates at ≈ 2800 rpm, delivering smooth cuts and efficient throughput.
  • Secondary Grinding Wheel (ASM version) — The “ASM” variant adds a secondary grinding wheel (stem-cup wheel) for improved versatility: useful for butt-end facing, stem tip chamfering, or other light finishing tasks.
  • Secondary Grinding Wheel (ASM version) — The “ASM” variant adds a secondary grinding wheel (stem-cup wheel) for improved versatility: useful for butt-end facing, stem tip chamfering, or other light finishing tasks.
  • Compact Footprint & Shop-Friendly Size — Overall dimensions around 700 × 600 × 700 mm, weight roughly 142–150 kg, making it suitable even for smaller shops or limited space facilities.
  • Standard Coolant, Wheel-Dressing & Accessories Included — Comes with grinding wheel, dresser, diamond dresser, coolant pump + settling tank, emulsifiable fluid, wrench set — ready for operation out of box.

Ready to Make the Right Equipment Choice?

Built on Real Engine-Rebuilding Experience

Decades before today’s engine shops trusted our equipment, Tony was already deep in the craft — rebuilding motors, machining blocks, and pushing for better precision.

A local newspaper once featured him as a standout young machinist, noting his drive, attention to detail, and obsession with doing things the right way. That same passion would eventually shape our company’s values.

Today, that commitment lives on in every machine we sell, every customer we support, and every shop we help succeed.
